Why should you have a hearing test?
Taking care of your hearing is essential to living well and maintaining good communication with those around you.
Visilab offers you a free personalised hearing test including:
- a hearing test (audiogram), with immediate results,
- a check of your hearing aids, if you already have them, and whether they are still suitable for your hearing
- information on the latest generations of hearing aids.
Hearing test procedure and results
The hearing test (audiogram) at Visilab is painless and takes about 15 minutes. The test comprises 5 steps:
1. Talking to your hearing aid acoustician about the different situations that bother you on a daily basis.
2. Your ears are visually examined with an otoscope to see if there are any obstructions in the ear canal that could affect your hearing.
3. Your hearing aid acoustician uses headphones to play sounds of different frequencies.
4. At the end of the hearing test, your audiologist will give you a detailed audiogram, explaining the results.
5. If a hearing aid is necessary, your audioprosthetist will show you the different options and may recommend one or more models depending on your aesthetic preferences (size and colour), lifestyle and budget, and will tell you about the reasons for his or her proposals.
